This correspondence is to give you a brief biography of the Southern Gospel singing group called Tender Mercy. Our home is located on the suburbs of Beaufort NC, which is a small fishing community on the eastern part of North Carolina. The group consists of three members: Lead/tenor- Jeff Lewis, alto/soprano - Debbie Lewis, and soprano/alto - Melodie Parnell.

In 1997, we felt lead to record our first project “I’m A Believer” and accept booking invitations throughout North Carolina as well as South Carolina, Virginia, Georgia and Florida. Since then we have published two additional projects: “Give Them Love” and “In A Moment of Time”. We all are song writers as well as Sister Melodie being a talented piano player. In October of 2006 we released our brand new recording, “Tender Mercy – Down Home” with 13 special selections including nine original songs and four requested favorites, one of which our daughter Kayla is featured. God has opened the doors for us to perform on the main stage at Myrtle Beach, SC at the Singing in the Sun event hosted by Tony Green and Dean Hopper, travel to Atlanta Georgia and appear on the Christian television broadcast and participate in a live video with Pillar Music Group. We have performed with many talented local groups such as: Clinton Nelson, the Wilmington Celebration Choir, Willing Heart, Debra Hollis, Sherry Watkins, The Crusaders and Keith & Kayla Rivenbark. We have sung backup or have opened for these talented folks: The Hoppers, Tony Gore, Lynda Randle & Jessie Dixon from the Gaither videos, The Anchormen, Kevin Spencer and Friends, The Dove Brothers Quartet, and Brian Free & Assurance.

We have been blessed to receive first place awards at the State Singing Convention at Benson, NC for two years Best Trio (2000 & 2004) and one year as Mixed Quartet (2003). In June, 2005 we were given the Consolation Award Trophy for second best performance of all 4 categories. Our most recent opportunities allowed us to be a part of a live television recording for Feed The Children with Lynda Randle that aired in the fall of 2006 on national TV, and a showcase at Myrtle Beach singing on the main stage with the Hoppers, Tony Gore, & Jessie Dixon, soon to perform in the Wilmington Celebration Choir with these same groups in April 2007 as well as Brian Free & Assurance. We have also performed in years past at the Grand old Gospel in Chocowinity NC and the Lighthouse Singing Convention in Raleigh NC.
The Lord has blessed us in many ways as we have endeavored to focus on ministering to people’s needs. We would be the first to say we have not been called to entertain but to be ministers in song and testimony. We love Jesus and gladly go where He opens the doors. We are excited about the Lord’s work and have a few bookings dates left for 2007.
